No. Jennifer requires that you establish care or continue care with a primary care provider. With your consent, Jennifer will forward your health plan details to your primary care provider and any specialist that you request.
Currently Jennifer is only accepting patients 18 years of age and older.
We do not accept insurance as payment, nor do we submit to health insurances on your behalf. Upon request you will be provided a super bill that includes up-to-date ICD-10 diagnostic codes that you may submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Visits with Jennifer are eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement. If you have Medicare or Medicaid as your primary health insurance provider, you will need to sign a specific consent form that acknowledges that you will be opting out of Medicare/Medicaid coverage for Jennifer’s services.
In this case, you may want to conduct the 15 minute intro call with Jennifer. During that call, Jennifer Rocca-Sexton, PA-C will provide guidance on whether or not working with her is recommended.
I am currently 100% ONLINE. I meet with patients who are Maryland residents via video consultations. Options to meet in person are available, please contact me to discuss. Due to state medical license regulations if you are not a resident of Maryland and would like to work with Jennifer your visits must be in person.
Functional Medicine incorporates a wide array of laboratory tests to assist in identifying the root causes of a person’s health conditions. Some of the tests that Jennifer orders will be conventional tests that, with the appropriate diagnostic codes, should by covered by most health insurances. Other laboratory tests, specific to functional medicine, are less likely to be covered by health insurance but should be eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement. You will not pay Jennifer for the laboratory tests. You will be responsible for making payment directly to the laboratory or ordering service (RUPA Health). A list of diagnoses and associated ICD-10 diagnostic codes will be provided to the patient.
Since Jennifer Rocca-Sexton, PA-C has practiced conventional primary, urgent, and specialty medicine for nearly 20 years, she has a wealth of knowledge regarding standard prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, and nutritional supplements. Safely and responsibly incorporating proper nutrition, current conventional medications, and nutritional supplements is of the utmost importance to Jennifer.
The first appointment with Jennifer Rocca-Sexton, PA-C is approximately 90 minutes, depending on the complexity of your case. Follow up appointments are typically 45 minutes.
After your initial appointment, Jennifer Rocca-Sexton, PA-C will review your customized health recommendations with you. If you become a member, you will have one individualized monthly fee that covers ongoing support through email and discounted rates on follow-up visits.
It will likely take several weeks, and often, 6 months or more to experience optimal results from the health plan and recommendations provided by Jennifer Rocca-Sexton, PA-C. The membership program allows patients to have frequent correspondence via email. Follow-up visits are offered at a discounted rate. Dividing up the cost of the program monthly provides financial flexibility for patients. Only patients participating in the membership program have expanded email access to Jennifer.

Jennifer Rocca-Sexton, PA-C recommends pharmaceutical grade supplements/nutraceuticals specifically because of the consistent quality, safety, and superior performance those products provide. Other brands of supplements/nutraceuticals can be used; however, your benefit may not be optimal.
